Default PvP Starburst Assassin

Well, I was messing around in RA and found out something rather interesting- Starburst on an Assassin works quite well. Here's the build I ran:

11 fire
9+2+1 dagger
8 shadow
8 crit

Skills:

Golden Phoenix Strike
Horns of the Ox
Falling Spider
Twisting Fangs
Star Burst {e}
Shadow Refuge
Shroud of Distress
Res Signet

I basically use Shroud of Distress just before all of the fighting starts and pick a target. Once you've finished the combo, round it off with Star Burst if they aren't dead yet. I find it a comforting break from the shock assassin which gets exhaustion and doesn't have a long enough combo to usually kill in one cycle.

I'm going to also try something like:

Disrupting Stab
Wild Strike
Twisting Fangs
Star Burst {e}
Shadow Refuge
Dash
not sure what to use here, Condition removal signet maybe...or a teleport
Res Signet

Not trying to h/j your thread but with all the A/E's running around using shock for a knowknock, its nice to see someone exloring other aspects of the same class combo. On the same note, I am surpise that we havne't seen a earthquake, aftershock assassin, maybe its just not viable.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10000316

Personally i prefer moebius strike for the alite as you can carry on the chain a bit longer if the other guy is standing next to someone (something epopel are starting to do now)

i've got a couple problems with the frst build

1) no condition removal, blind will own you

2)counting the extra time it takes to throw a 5 attack combo (counting star burst as an attack) you spend way too much time exposed to takeingdmg, evenwith a 50% dodge - pluss when you finish off your attack, you're left standing where your target was, vulnerible to all of his buddies, and not too much time left on your SoD to keep you avoiding dmg

a teleport out,and a switch from star burst to a ranged el attack will give you the same results (i.e. the full kill you'retrying for), while compleately takeing you out of harms way. - i have a E/A build that utilise's this tatic very sucessfully.

run in, fire off assassin spike combo, tp out and finish it with a fireball. - works everytime.

second build is beter, but dash is absolutely worthless, when you have to run any amount of distence, you spend more time casting it then you do with the benifit. - replace dash with the tp you're considering and use your free slot for the condition removal that your considering.
